how much does it cost?
thesitetoremember is completely free to use with email reminders. If you want to be reminded via text message, however, you will need to buy credits.
what is a credit and why do I need to pay for them?
Credits are what you need to buy in order to send your reminders directly to your mobile phone. One credit is used each time a reminder sent. The price per credit is between 12 pence and 20 pence depending on how many you buy. (roughly EUR 0.16 to 0.28 or $US 0.24 to 0.40).
Some providers of reminder services won't charge you but they will bombard you with other offers and services once they have your phone number. We won't do this which is why we ask you to pay a small fee for each text message reminder.
can I mix-and-match my reminders with some being email only and some being text message and email?
Yes. Provided you have purchased credits you can specify, for each of your reminders, whether you want to be reminded by text message and email or email only.
what type of reminders to you cater for?
We cover anything you could possibly want to be reminded about! There is nothing that we won't be able to remind you about.
is there a limit to the number of reminders I can have?
No, there is no limit.
how far in advance do you remind me?
Its up to you! you decide how many days in advance of an event you want to receive your reminders.
I'm not in the UK. Will it work on my mobile phone network?
Yes. We cover all major network providers across the globe. You will, however, have to pay in GBP.
what if I have more than one email address that I use?
Once you register your email address is used as your unique identifier and can't be changed so use the one that a) your friends know and b) that you are likely to continue using. We would recommend a non-work related email addres such as gmail or yahoo mail.
At what time of day will I get my reminder?
Your reminders will be sent at around 9am GMT.
How will I know when I need to buy more credits?
We will send you a message when you have 2 credits left. You could also monitor your level of credits by logging in frequently.
I registered as an email only user but I now want text message reminders as well. Can I do this?
Yes. Simply buy some credits and change the reminder type of your reminders from email to text and email.
Can I choose to be reminded about something every year?
Yes. We can remind you once-off or repeat the reminder each year.
I have a friend who won't join. Can I still add their birthday?
Of course! You can manually add birthdays of anyone - friends, children, people who don't have their own email account. It's easiest to encourage them to join though!
What if I don't get a reminder that I was expecting?
Firstly check that we have the correct email and mobile phone details for you. Secondly check that the reminder had been set up in your events section. Lastly check that the day you were expecting the reminder is correct. If you check all these things out and still have problems then use the contact form to send us an email detailing the problem.
Will you send me spam email or text messages?
No. We may, from time to time, send information on offers or enhancements relating to this service. If you have bought one of our cards from a retailer the retailer may sponsor some of your messages so a sponsored message may be appended at the end of your text messages.
If I register and try the service, then decide I don't want to use it any more can I ask you to delete my details?
Well, we know that once you start to use the service you will find it becomes an invaluable part of your life so we are pretty confident you won't want to quit! If you do, however, we will of course honor your request and delete your details from our records.
